Lauren Engineers and Constructors, founded in 1984, is an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor with offices across North America. The company designed and constructed highly specialized facilities in several industries such as chemicals, oil and gas, and refining industries.
Following the death of company founder and CEO Charles Whitener in a plane crash in February 2020, Lauren Engineers filed for a chapter 7 bankruptcy in April 2021. The petition showed assets in the range of $10 – 50 million. We faced the challenge of selling their assets in Abilene, TX during the peak of Covid-19.
The first two sales were held in June 2021 over 2 days. The first day included their Construction and Metal Fabrication Equipment, while the second day sold the corporate office furniture & equipment. In September 2021, our team held an auction for Lauren Engineer’s 160+/- acres in Montana.
The sales for Lauren Engineers helped to pay back their debtors by accumulating almost $2 million in the first two sales of their assets. 150 bidders in 6 states participated. The September Montana property sale brought in almost $300,000. 9 bidders in 3 states engaged in the property sale.
